In addition to an acceleration variable, I added a separate deceleration variable. While the jet may get up to speed really quickly, I don't necessarily want it to slow down at the same rate. I guess I'm looking for a balance between momentum and the ability to turn tightly in a dogfight. The jet now has a boost function which multiplies the airspeed for a short duration. Of course, it has a cool-down so players can't spam the boost button infinitely! I also added a quick shooting mechanic, but the projectiles don't have any affect yet; they simply automatically destroy after a few seconds.
