Students in Tech Studio, a digital fabrication course, created this collaborative installation on the campus of Hastings College. The biology department permitted the group to use the Morrison-Reeves greenhouse as an alternative gallery space. The work is comprised of yarn, paper, bubble wrap. shower curtains, balloons, poly-fil, Arduino microcontrollers, LED lamps, and relay modules. The group captured a sense of organic growth while responding to the rigid architecture of the space. The color palette continually changed as the Arduino sketch blinked lights on and off.
